NEW
HOME CONSTRUCTION
We have some new information concerning the construction of new homes
at 1823 and 1827 Oakline Drive by J&J Custom Homes. Another
appeal was filed at the last minute by Twin Oaks Airport and an injunction
to halt construction still exists. I spoke with John Finch of
J&J and he told me that the homes have been redesigned with lower roof
lines to comply with the FAA flight path regulations. This
information will be considered by Mr. Fowler of Twin Oaks Airport and
hopefully a resolution will be forthcoming. Truth of the matter is
that the City of San Antonio should have never issued building permits.
The new street between Jones Maltsberger and Archers Bow has the water
and sewer utilities in place. Frank Stanush, the land developer is
in negotiations with the City regarding the construction of a silt pond as
a continuing part of the storm drainage ditch that runs West to East on
the South side of our neighborhood. This construction must be
completed before the electric, hone and TV cables can be installed and the
road paved and curbed.
NEW
NEIGHBORHOOD SIGN
Discussions are still taking place regarding changes to our existing
neighborhood entry sign or perhaps building a new sign. Details will
be published as they become available |
NEIGHBORHOOD
GARAGE SALE
The neighborhood garage/yard sale was held on April 2nd and there was
widespread participation as people made millions of dollars selling their
treasures to cheerful customers. Tom Gates informed us that the
City's Code Compliance officers were in our neighborhood making sure
everyone had purchased their garage sale permits, which by the way
increased in price to $16.00!! Seems high to me, since the average
cost of a garage sale item is only $1.50. I guess they need the
money to help pay for our new City Manager's salary!!! Thanks to Tom
for organizing and advertising this years event.
PRESIDENT'S
CORNER
It's good news bad news for our neighborhood. Back in March there
was a incident on Oakline where a man in a pickup truck allegedly exposed
himself to a young girl. The good news is that one of your neighbors
noticed him talking t the little girl and was alert enough to get his
license plate number and a description of him and his vehicle.
Police were called, reports were made and charges were filed. Better
news: The man was arrested and is facing criminal charges.
Please be aware of what is going on around your street. We are the
first line of defense in situation like these. Hats are off to our
neighbor whose actions may help prevent future behavior of this kind on
our streets!!!
