Marlene M.      Archdiocese “Spirit Day” reminder

·        Money Tree will be barricaded on October 13th for the Archdiocese Spirit Day.  Make arrangements to use alternate entrance.

·        McAllister Park will be closed for the day until about 3pm.

Addition to Bylaws

·        A motion was made to include the pro-ration of the Association dues in the bylaws. A motion was made by Paula Gray and seconded by Margie Row. Vote was passed.

·        An update will be made to the bylaws in the new year.

 Landscaping Update

·        Landscape maintenance on the sign will take place on the next three Saturdays from 7am until 12pm. Volunteers needed.

·        First Saturday will be the clean up, second the digging, and the third Saturday will be the planting.

·        Dave Stockdale, neighborhood resident from the botonical gardens, will donate some plants to help the cause.

Changing Our Association Name

·        Due to the pending issue of the continuance of the Association, the name change issue was postponed until the new year.

·        Fall garage sale was a success with 16 families participating.

·        On October 27th there will be a pumpkin carving and decorating activity. It will take place in the cul-de-sac on Wildstone Circle.  David Weekley might donate the pumpkins.

·        The Christmas party will be held at The Alterra Living Center on December 9th from 4-6pm. Everyone is aksed to bring a dish to share. Entertainment will provided by The Merry Court Singers.

·        The spring fling bill was taken care of by David Weekley -  many thanks.

Jim W.             Covenants/Zoning

·        Wanted to remind residents to keep their garage doors closed. There have been some thefts lately in the area. Also, if your garage door is left open, lock the door to your home.

·        Asked for volunteers to help out the Red Cross.

Marlene Mm    Security awareness

·        Due to the events on September 11th, Marlene asked that everyone be aware of goings on, on and around their street.  Report strange happenings to her, Jim Watkins or 911.

            Continuation of Homeowner’s Association

·        A vote to continue the Homeowner’s Association will be taken at the end of this quarter.  The ballots are due at the Christmas Party on December 9th.

·        Officer nominations are due by November 15th. Open positions for Vice President and Secretary. Other open positions are for Lead Block Captain, Landscaping Lead and Committee, Social Committee Lead, New Neighbor/Welcoming Lead, and the Newsletter. These positions will be on the ballots for volunteers.

·        Point stressed that people need to be involved if there is going to be a Homeowner’s Association.

·        Possibility of a membership drive.

·        Discussion opened up to the members for their ideas.

·        Members said they thought it was important not to let ballots sit around. Better if there is an effort to go door-to-door to get people to turn in ballots.

·        Karen from Indian Paintbrush stated it might work to have a more forceful approach in getting residents to help.

·        Co-ordinate people to help block captains pass out and discuss flyers with residents.

·        Possibility of a strategy committee to help advize board on the important facts to put on flyers.

·        Sign up sheets were put out for people to sign up to help -with flyer and door-to-door distribution.

Jim W.             Covenants

·        Overgrown lots are an eyesore and need to be maintained, especially as we head for winter.  As weeds get higher, we may get more vermin in the area.
