Minutes of NCHNA meeting held at Sterling House on Thursday, February 4, 2010

I. Call to order - the meeting was called to order at approximately 7:10 PM with Ed Bakunas, Vice-President, in charge of the meeting in Richard Palmer's absence. A total of thirteen residents attended. The minutes from the last meeting were not available to read.

II. Financial Report - checking balance $5,127.02.

III. Old Business - Much discussion took place regarding the skate boarders behind the homes on Salt Lick. There were various opinions regarding the newly installed "No Trespassing" signs behind existing homes. Information has been included in the NCHNA minutes regarding this problem starting with the minutes dated 6/11/09. The city of San Antonio resorted to putting up the signs to provide a means of enforcement for police due to the escalation of the nuisance level and vandalism of a resident home along with the destruction of city property. Mr. Joe Lyons (Wood Grove resident) will make more calls in order to find out what our options are regarding the new signage. Some residents would like the accessibility of using the green belt area, but feel that the existing signage will not allow them to use the area. Mr. Lyons will be reporting his findings to the NCHNA Officers and we will post them at that time on the website www.NCHNA.org. If the problem skateboarding problem persists, please dial the non-emergency number of the San Antonio Police Department @ 207-SAPD.

Neighborhood Night Out was a success. Various streets collected dues for the new year ($25.00) per home in addition to offering goodies and good company. Dues are for this year (January - December). If you have not paid your dues for 2010, please send them to Robert Schoenert at 13810 Wildstone Circle 78232 OR bring them to the shredding on 2/20/10.

IV. New Business - Mary Ann Vaughn (social Chairperson) will be contacting Parks and Recreation to obtain information about possibly renting two Pavilions for a "Spring Fling". Information will follow at a later date.

The frequency of meetings will remain four times a year. Meetings will be held in Jan., April, July and October. Meetings will continue to be held at the Sterling House Assisted Living at the corner of Jones Maltsberger and Money Tree.

The election of new Officers took place with the New Officers list as follows: President - Paula Gray Vice Pres. - to remain as Ed Bakunas Secretary - position to be vacated by Mrs. Christie. We are currently looking for a replacement. If you are interested, please call Linda at 496-5886. Treasurer - position to be vacated by Sara Ramirez and replaced with webmaster Robert Schoenert Social Chairperson - to remain Mary Ann Vaughn

Shredding Day is coming - Marshall Shredding has been contracted to provide on-site shredding on Saturday, February 20th at 11:00 sharp. Your documents will not be shredded if you are not there. You also need to be prepared to take your boxes and/or garbage bags away with you when you return to your car.
