THE BROWN AND BLUE HAVE ARRIVED

We all have received the new 96 gallon Brown and Blue containers. Please note: that our NEW collection days will be as follows:

Garbage (brown canister - extra canisters are $16 per month) – will be on Fridays
Recycling (blue canister) – will be on Tuesdays

The holidays are Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day and Martin Luther King Day. If your scheduled pick-up
happens to occur on any of these holidays, your collection day will slide over to the next day. (I.E. If Christmas occurs on Friday our scheduled garbage pick-up day, we won’t get collection on that day, but they will pick up garbage on Saturday.)

Please note that there is only ONE collection day per week for both garbage and recycling. You will also be receiving a small kitchen sized recycling can that can be used inside your home, which should be delivered some time during the week of February 16^th. This small blue kitchen sized can may be used by you to transport recycling items from your kitchen to the BIG canister. We hope that you will be able to place these BIG cans either in your garage, in the backyard OR on the side of your home, possibly behind landscaping, so our residential area remains as neat as possible; however, it has come to our attention, that some residents are placing them in front of their garage. Please be considerate of your neighbors.

One thing to remember – you will be delivered these cans to your home and they come with a registration number on them. If you desire a second recycling can (FREE) – just call 207-6428. If you want a second brown garbage can, you will have to pay for it. These cans are easy to roll out to the curb; however, they are very large. If you have tried the 96 gallon cans and would prefer a smaller 48 gallon can in exchange, you may also call the above number for delivery of a smaller can. There is no longer going to be any 40 lb. limitations for garbage pick-up. If it fits in the BIG can, they will pick it up. Everything is automated.

If you want to get rid of your old recycling green bins, please put them inside the BIG BLUE can to be recycled. The same with your existing garbage cans.

Brush pick-up occurs twice a year, March and September.
